ATV Tours - ATV Experience
July - October 2012 / Swedish Lapland
What is the Drive Horizons “ATV Experience”?
This is a "short break" style event based on our premium "ATV Arctic Wilderness Experience". A 3 day event that gives a hint of what travelling and living in this remote region is all about. We use the same modern ATV's (Quad bikes) to undertake a safari style ride to explore and discover a smaller chunk of the Swedish Arctic Circle in summer. Though more compact than our 5 day event, we will still give you the same all important training to allow to safely operate our modern utility type ATV's then lead you out into the vast wilderness & culminating in a night spent at a remote location.
The cost of the event will include 4 night's accommodation, all food and drink (non alcoholic), equipment hire, fuel and local airport transfers (flight cost not included).
We are currently finalising our event programmes & prices for 2012 and full details will be available shortly.

How hard is it, how fit do I need to be?
Riding an ATV does require a reasonable amount of physical input to operate and you will be riding over a variety of undulating surfaces in a range of weather conditions and some first time riders will find this tiring. An average active person should be able to cope with these demands and we will ensure that you can ride at the pace you are comfortable with.
We recommend that you try out an ATV prior to booking a place on one of our events should you be unsure that this type of event is for you.
Should you for any reason feel unable to continue with the group during the event, the Drive Horizon event staff will arrange for you to be transferred to a support vehicle at the earliest possibility and returned to the event base or hopefully reunited with the main group at the end of day location. This means that even if you not feeling yourself for whatever the reason you can still get the maximum experience from the event.
Am I old enough?
Minimum age requirement is 18 or over
Do I need to have experience & what do I need to bring with me?
No previous experience is necessary. All you need to bring is an open mind and a sense of adventure along with suitable outdoor clothing which should include water proofs and warm clothing for the evenings. We strongly recommend the wearing of walking boots or similar footwear that offers ankle protection. We will provide you with the necessary safety helmet, gloves and eye protection. As well as Elk, Reindeer, Bears and Beavers, the Swedish wilderness is home to a variety of insects and bugs including mosquitoes and these can be more noticeable at certain times of the year and weather conditions so guests may also wish to bring their own preferred brand of insect repellent. Please note this does not work with Bears!
Do I need a Visa?
Many EU passport holders will not require a Visa to enter Sweden but you are responsible for ensuring that you meet Sweden’s entry requirements.
How many people will be there?
There will normally be a maximum of 12 people per event.
Where am I sleeping?
We are currently finalising our event programmes & accommodation for 2012 and full details will be available shortly.
What’s the food like?
Food will be a blend of traditional Swedish and contemporary European cuisine and of a great standard.
What happens if something goes wrong?
In the unlikely event that something should go wrong and our own first aid trained staff are unable to render the necessary assistance, we can call upon the efficient Swedish emergency services who are experienced in dealing with every type of emergency that can occur in this environment. On this subject, we recommend you obtain and carry a European Health Insurance Card (if eligible) and as stated above you will be required to have your own travel and personal accident insurance that covers the types of activities included in our events.
